Platform’s brief was to create a comfortable, contemporary family home which could accommodate existing Asian pieces. As the relationship with the client become stronger, Platform’s remit grew and by the projects conclusion they had designed living/reception areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, the gym the home entertainment areas for the 8 bedroomed house.
The clients had chosen a number of traditional Asian pieces of furniture but wanted a contemporary home. Seamlessly combining traditional and modern pieces needs a sensitive use of colour, texture and material.
Platform has succeeded in creating a home where modern classics such as Cappellini, Fendi, Hulsta, Ligne Roset, Delaspada and Asian pieces are effortlessly incorporated into high spec spaces. Throughout the house traditional skills such as paneling are given a modern twist by using banded limestone and Wenge cladding with polished plaster. The colours are warm and muted with brighter, more vivid accent colours being picked out in soft furnishings and decorative pieces.
