Vodafone identified Speechmark to become it`s digital hub in central London. The existing tired building did not provide the signature architectural statement that was required to reflect Vodafone’s position as a leading digital and telecoms company. The main challenge with the existing building was the poor flow and connection between the different levels and a very small insignificant entrance to the building


Platform studied how their digital teams worked and collaborated and their move to agile working. With this research and the need for a showcase in central London Platform decided that a new external extension could resolve the flow through the space and provide an attractive central hub for users and architectural statement to showcase externally Vodafone position as a major force in the digital world.


A new glass extension raised to 3 floors provided the architectural impact and provided an almost cathedral proportioned space which brought natural light into all levels of the building.

To connect and help flow a feature central spine formed the stair connecting all levels. This together with a ground floor café gave the required buzz and sought after hub to the building. A large suspended array of digital screens highlights to the street the nature of the digital use. The screen can also be utilised by the community for major events. Within the refurbishment new agile floors, presentation suites, demo areas and collaboration areas helped to make the new look Speechmark a signature digital hub for Vodafone


The new extension and upgrade of the building and entrance atrium provides an environment that seamlessly functions. The screen installation provides a digital beacon cementing Speechmark as Vodafone’s digital hub. The transformed building has provided Vodafone with the required dramatic central London home that will help to propel the company forward into the digital future.
